Fav Purchases for Baby 4

Being that we already had 3 kiddos when Benji arrived, we were well prepared in the baby department! I’ve saved most of their clothes and baby gear through the years because I knew we wanted another baby, but there were a few things I got for me and for Benji this time around that I have been SO pleased with.

Here is my list of items that we have used and LOVED this time around! Mostly practical, a few splurges (#lastbaby), and all of them have been great buys!

For Benji

Dockatot - a friend dropped off her old dockatot on our doorstep and we have loved it! It has helped Benji sleep and feel cozy and cradled. Not to mention I loved napping next to him in the early days with the dockatot by my side in the bed!

Mini Crib + Mattress + Waterproof pad + Sheets - Our beloved Rock n Play was recalled (which is what we used for our first 3 kids in the bedroom) so this time around, we decided to buy a mini crib for the bedroom. I have really loved it! It’s adorable, it’s on wheels and it easily collapses, and it fits perfectly in the corner of our bedroom.

New Chicco car seat and base - I’ll be honest - I really wanted a boujee carseat this time around. I was looking at the Nuna and the other fancy schmancy ones that all the cool girls have. And after several conversations with my friend Kate and my husband, I remembered that carseats are covered in spit up and poop very quickly, and we already have 2 bases and a stroller and a Bob adapter that works with the Chicco. So we got a new one, and I am so very pleased with this decision!

Willaby blanket - Not gonna lie - these puppies are expensive, but oh so cozy. This was my splurge item, and I asked my mom if she wanted to buy it for Benji as a gift (because I’m cheap) and she said yes! It’s his coziest blanket and I’m obsessed.

Lou Lou knitted gown and hat - The best, coziest little baby gown. I cannot handle it. He wore two in our newborn session - one that I bought, and one that Lauren gave us. Just so so sweet and soft.

Mam Pacis - We had a few pink and purple ones on hand, but I ordered some boy ones when he was born :). We love the mam paci brand! I feel like my babies have taken to them the best.

Set of onesies - Beaufort was born in December, so I quickly realized we didn’t have any short sleeved onesies for my July baby. This Carters pack has been great!

Fresh tommee tippee bottles - I just wanted some fresh bottles this time around so I picked them up from Target. Why tommee tippee? Because they have the least amount of parts to clean!

For Mama

Kizik - I have LOVED these shoes, specifically for pregnancy! You just SLIDE YOUR FEET IN without bending over! I struggled bigtime with swelling and needed some supportive shoes. These are probably my best pregnancy purchase. I got the colorful ones! (PS if you use my link you should see a pop up window for $20 off!) I plan to buy another pair even though I’m not preggers anymore. They are that comfy.

Pregnancy pillow - I never had one of these and decided to splurge this time around. I LOVED sleeping with this thing each night! It made the uncomfortable nights much more comfortable! While I loved it, if I had to do it again I think that I would buy THIS ONE because I didn’t love the little spot for my arm in the other one. But any pregnancy pillow is better than none!

Haakaa - First time user, and I’m sold. What an easy, effortless way to collect milk without having to hook up to a pump every time! It gently catches the milk from the opposite breast during letdown with a little suction. If you get the original one (like I did), just keep it in a coffee mug so it doesn’t tip over. My sister in law swears by the new one with the suction cup bottom!

Amazon Undies - I needed some throw away comfy undies for postpartum, so I grabbed this pack on Amazon without even thinking about it. Well I haven’t thrown any of them away! They are inexpensive white undies with good coverage and comfort. Yes please.

Spectra Pump - I switched from the Medela and I’ve really liked the Spectra, but it’s been annoying to re-teach myself the ways of pumping. Part of me wishes I stayed with the Medela just because I was familiar with it! But I have loved the features and not having to have to be plugged into the wall, the various pumping settings, and the parts feel easier to clean. Bottom line - I wish I got this one to begin with :).

We didn’t have a baby shower or sprinkle this time around, so there was really just a small list of items I wanted / needed. Some on this list were replacement items (like bottles, pacifiers, onesies and an expired carseat) and others were new items that we’ve never had before (like the Lou Lou gown, dockatot, haakaa pump and willaby blanket).

What have you used with later babies that you didn’t know or use with your first? I’d love to hear!
