Milly Ray Newborn Session

When I found out Nancy and Will were having a baby… let’s just say, mind=blown. Nancy & Will are turning into Nancy & Will & baby?! This is amazing insanity! Excitement and happiness levels were through the roof for us at the NRP Studio, and while we knew that they would make great parents, we had absolutely no clue what to expect.

Fast forward to today, 3 months after Milly’s arrival, and I’m trying to pinpoint what it is that’s different (other than the obvious third person in the house and all the baby stuff), but I can’t.

Nancy was content, she was graceful and she was grateful before Milly, but there’s a newness to her spirit that wasn’t there before.  It’s something that I didn’t even know was missing until I saw her holding her daughter for the first time. And Will… he has always been a supportive and helpful servant leader, and adding “dad” to his list of roles has seemed so effortless – it puts a big smile on all our faces to see him tote Milly around calling her “Girly”.

While their roles as “mom” and “dad” are new, Milly has sunk into their lives in a perfectly natural way that’s made it all seem so beautifully normal, so fast. This fresh dynamic and disposition has filled their souls so well that it’s hard to fathom how it wasn’t always there.

Don’t get me wrong- I know (and they would tell you) that it’s certainly been an adjustment, as it is for all new parents; but Callie, Olivia and I have all watched this transition to parenthood, and we all agree that it’s been one amazing sight to behold.

And the icing on the cake is that Milly is seriously a great baby… I could just hold her all day!
