Welcome to the new NancyRay.com!

Welcome to the all new nancyray.com! There is so much to share on how all of this came to be. I am hoping and praying this will be a space where I can simply be myself and share what God is teaching me.

I’ve been blogging for over 10 years at nancyrayphotography.com, and I have loved it. As my team and business have grown, I have realized that I’ve been blogging from my heart less. Or when I did blog something personal or from my heart, it got lost pretty quickly, buried in lots of beautiful images! I wanted to give that blog the space to grow into what it should be - a place to serve our clients and post beautiful images. But I’ve felt a stirring to share more of what God has been teaching me in a format that is most helpful - this new site!

So let me pause. There are a few things you should know right off the bat:

  • I am far from perfect. That picture of me smiling above? That was one of my most difficult days. It was the day of my maternity session for my 3rd, and I felt like a big mom fail. I didn’t plan ahead, I tried to get new outfits at Target to make it feel special, only to get to the checkout line with two screaming kids to realize… I lost my debit card in Target. I abandoned the checkout counter and headed home. I wore clothes I already had. My kids melted down during the session, I kept our sweet family photographer too late, and ended the day exhausted. (Thankfully my family photographer worked some magic! I was a MESS.)

  • I love sharing what I’m learning on motherhood, simplicity, being a working mama, productivity, time management, and following Jesus. I hope you always know I’m learning alongside you, not preaching at you. I have so far to go.

  • The launch of this website has taken a long, long time. I waited on the domain for 8 years, I have been working on launching this for 11 months. It will never be perfect, but done is always better than perfect.

  • Also, I’m launching this as I enter maternity leave for our 3rd baby girl! I’ve prepared some content ahead of time, but you better believe I’ll be soaking in some newborn snuggles these next few months. I’ll leave maintaining this site to my team - I’m fighting to keep my priorities straight!

  • This is the first project in my career that I have felt serious push back on. Like EVERYTHING kept going wrong. Again and again. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and most days a collision of all emotions at once. I feel so fragile. I want to remember that this wasn’t easy, and this website almost didn’t happen. Yet God kept whispering “I will make a way,” and He did.

Okay, now that you know where I am and a little about how I got here, here is what you can expect!

I’ll be on maternity leave for the next several months, but I have a few posts planned in advance to share from my heart. A few topics I’m passionate about that will be covered here!

  • Contentment

  • Motherhood

  • Work

  • Rhythms & Routines

  • Reading / Book Club

  • Spiritual Growth as a Christian

  • Marriage

  • Finances

  • Running

  • Balance

  • Productivity & Time management

In a nutshell, it can be boiled down to HOME, FAITH, & WORK. I’m pretty excited about it!

What’s to come?

A PODCAST : I’m also hoping to launch a podcast here later this year, and would love to hear any topics you’d love for me to cover.

FUN FRIDAYS: Blogposts that can be silly or helpful or whatever I want them to be - a way to simply share the fun parts of life with you! I’ll give you my favorite product recommendations, tutorials, and helpful tips.

NEW RESOURCES: My hope is to create new resources that enhance your faith walk, your home life, and your work habits. This won’t be until later in 2019, and again: I’d love to hear what you are most interested in. So leave a comment!

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! I am so grateful and so excited to have an outlet to share all that God is teaching me! Here’s to a new season!
