Show Notes:
Today is a very brief episode. It’s a tradition of sorts on this podcast for me to read this to you. I change it a little every year so that it pertains specifically to this year. It’s simply called, “Finish Strong.

Keep going, eyes on Him. You're almost there. Take the time to look over your shoulder, to grieve, to celebrate, and to thank God for His faithfulness. Do your best to finish strong. Clean out that inbox. Drop off those donations. Finish your shopping. Pray with your family. Take time to rest and then get up early. Tie up all your loose ends. Don't give up on 2024 before it's over. It's not over yet.
If you don't get it all done, and you don't feel like you have it in you to finish strong, I want to remind you, life ebbs and flows. Sometimes we will finish strong. Sometimes we'll feel weak and we'll lean on God's strength.
Sometimes we're going to finish trusting God to write the rest of the story. Sometimes we will finish, but we don't know where we're headed. Sometimes we will finish peacefully. But one thing that brings comfort and hope. Our work will actually never be done. Our to-do lists will continue to grow, and the most important work in life has already been done for us fully and completely on the cross. You can always, always rest in that truth.
As 2024 comes to a close, don't rush it. As crazy as it has been, it has also been such a gift. Be thorough with these final days. Savor every moment of this beautiful, candlelit, song-filled cinnamon tasting season. And while trusting and listening, while savoring and memory making, with all the strength that you have, do your best to finish strong. We're not after perfection. We're after our best. So, cross off your to-do list like a ninja. Welcome everyone into your home with big hugs and laughter.
Eat nourishing food and drink more water than you think you need. Schedule time to finish that project that's looming. Don't let anything steal your peace, ever. Do it all with joy. God has given you an amazing life. There is breath in your lungs and a loving God who fills you, leads you and reminds you of just how far He came to be with you, to die for you and to save you.
Finish strong with peace and with joy. Then put up that away message, bake the cookies, bust out the board games, and be with your family. Be where your feet are, which is still in 2024. Next year will come soon enough.
Thanks for listening, and I'll catch you next week.
